Manager Marcel Koller is on the verge of completing a historic full debut season with the Club of the Century, having already claimed the Egypt Cup, the CAF Champions League and the Egyptian Premier League titles.
Ahly's success has, in a big way, overshadowed the campaign endured by fierce rivals Zamalek, who had have a catastrophic season by their standards.
The White Knights have gone from being champions of Egypt to managing only a third-place finish to the 2022/23 campaign, and their suspended president Mortada Mansour has now suggested that witchcraft is at the heart of the two institutions' contrasting fortunes this past campaign.
"Last season, Al Ahly lost all the trophies. Hussein El-Shahat and Afsha were going to be sold and now suddenly they have become great. I won't say doping, but there is something unnatural," Mansour said, according to KingFut.
"After Al Ahly's 5-0 loss to [Mamelodi] Sundowns, suddenly Al-Hilal's player misses a penalty, then they face Raja Casablanca, and their players were injured; in addition, Esperance fans start fights among themselves, and in the final, no one saw the goal as it entered the net, and other similar incidents.

"Something unnatural is happening. There is a person who sent me a message with a picture of a sorcerer, who is called Ragab Baha, and this man is from Fayoum, the hometown of Sayed Abdelhafiz [Al Ahly's director of football]."
