What's the story?

Let's take a closer look...

George Koumantarakis' post retirement life

It's been almost two decades since the 49-year-old hung up his boots after a relatively short career, where he played for seven clubs and managed 12 Bafana caps including a 2002 FIFA World Cup appearance.

With a BCom Law qualification from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Koumantarakis was destined for a post-football life in the corporate world and over the last couple of years, he's been working with an international company, Logan Golf.

The one-time DStv Premiership league winner under the now defunct Manning Rangers is a director at Logan Golf, and is described by the New Zealand-based company as an accomplished businessman, developer and investor.

Logan Golf is a successful family business that makes Golf bags and is run by founder and ceo Andrew Logan who works closely to the former Bafana striker as part of the board of directors in the company.

Koumantarakis is quite a nifty golfer himself as he's shown on Instagram, an important sport to be good at as someone involved in the corporate world.

Apart from his job, the Greek-born Durbanite is a married father of three and enjoys watching his children excel in sports, namely football.

He's also taken them on unbelievable family trips, with recent adventures taking them to Greece, Malta as well as the nearby Drakensburg mountains.
