Lionel Messi's father has revealed where his son wants to play next after his Paris Saint-Germain exit was confirmed this past weekend.

The 35-year-old's father, Jorge Messi, who is also his representative, was pictured in Spain on Monday meeting with Barcelona president Joan Laporta.
It is believed he was speaking to Spanish journalist Toni Juanmarti when he confirmed his son's desire to head back to the Catalan giants, admitting he would love for a deal to materialise too.
"Leo wants to return to Barcelona and I'd love to see him back to Barca," he stated, as cited by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
"Barca move is an option for sure."

Messi's contract in France expires at the end of the month, although his journey in Paris is already over after he made his final appearance for the club on Saturday.

The Argentine started in PSG's 3-2 home loss to Clermont Foot in Ligue 1, in which a section of supporters jeered him after he failed to score in a one-on-one with the opposition goalkeeper.
