The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner represented the French giants for the last time on Saturday, when Les Parisiens suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Clermont Foot in a Ligue 1 fixture.
While Messi has not yet announced where he will play next yet, PSG head coach Christophe Galtier said this weekend's match would be Messi's final one for the club.
The Argentine's contract in Paris expires at the end of the month, with clubs such as Al Hilal and Barcelona said to be moving for his signature.
PSG attacker Neymar, who also starred alongside Messi in Spain, bid farewell to his colleague with a touching post on social media.
"Brother... it didn't turn out as we thought but we tried everything," he wrote on Instagram, according to 90min.
"It was a pleasure to share two more years with you. Good luck in your new stage and be happy. I love you."
Messi is said to prefer a return to the Catalan club for the 2023/24 campaign, but Barca are yet to formalise an offer for the Argentina captain.
The Spanish top-flight champions are believed to be waiting for LaLiga to approve their financial plans before tabling a proposal for Messi.
