Man City Move Top, Chelsea Get First Win Under Lampard

Manchester City 2-1 Leeds United

Manchester City moved top of the Premier League table after defeating Leeds United 2-1 at the Etihad.

Pep Guardiola's charges opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Riyad Mahrez cut inside and teed up Ilkay Gündogan, who slotted home with a fine first-time finish.

The lead was doubled in the 27th minute when Gundogan got on the end of Mahrez's pass and fired another fine strike into the far corner.

Gundogan had a chance to complete his hat-trick after City were awarded a penalty, but the German struck the upright, much to the annoyance of Guardiola.

Rodrigo did manage to pull a goal back moments after the penalty miss, but the Citizens were able to hold out until the final whistle.

Bournemouth 1-3 Chelsea

Chelsea got their first win under interim manager Frank Lampard after defeating Bournemouth 3-1 at the Vitality Stadium.

The Blues opened the scoring after nine minutes when Conor Gallagher nodded home a cross from N'Golo Kante.

Bournemouth were back on level terms in the 21st minute when a superb passing move ended with  Matias Vina finding the top corner with a curling strike from the edge of the box.

Benoit Badiashile restored Chelsea's lead in the 82nd minute with his first goal for the club, before Joao Felix wrapped up the win four minutes later.

Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Crystal Palace

Tottenham Hotspur kept their top-four ambitions alive with a 1-0 victory away to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

Harry Kane got the breakthrough for his side on the stroke of halftime with a close-range header and overtook Wayne Rooney as the second leading scorer in league history with 209 goals.

The North London side remain in sixth position, six points adrift of the top four while Palace have dropped to 12th spot.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 Aston Villa

Wolverhampton Wanderers moved ten points clear of the relegation zone after defeating Aston Villa 1-0 at Molinuex Stadium.

The home side found the breakthrough in the minute as Ruben Neves' corner found Toti, who sent a powerful header into the back of the net.
