This past weekend, Kane's solitary goal was enough to see Tottenham Hotspur defeat Manchester City 1-0 as the England captain dented the reigning champions' title aspirations.
He became Spurs' all-time top goalscorer in the process and also beat Rooney and Shearer to become the fastest player to reach 200 EPL goals. It took the London native 309 league matches and now, he will likely be aiming to become the league's most prolific marksman ever.
The holder of that record is currently Shearer. Across spells with Southampton, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United, the Englishman amassed 260 Premier League goals in his 441 appearances in the topflight.
Shearer and Kane are among the eight Englishman that constitute the league's top 10, with the only foreign players on the list being Thierry Henry and Sergio Aguero.
Between the Frenchman and the Argentine, both have won the title seven times as they each spearheaded some of the most formidable frontlines the English game have ever seen.
