Mourinho 'Wants' Spectacular Return To Former EPL Side

Mourinho 'Wants' Spectacular Return To Former EPL Side

Reports claim that Jose Mourinho is keen on making a sensational return to one of his former sides in the Premier League due to the lack of financial backing he has at his current club AS Roma.

Al Nassr Head Coach Expects Ronaldo Exit

In his first season managing the Giallorossi, Mourinho accomplished a remarkable feat in leading the Serie A giants to their first-ever European title, helping them hold aloft the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League trophy.

Almost a season removed from winning that title, though, it seems the Portuguese tactician has become disillusioned at the Stadio Olimpico.

According to the Daily Mail, Mourinho is not comfortable with the financial restraints he is currently under at Roma, and would like a return to the Premier League and, more specifically, to the club he once was synonymous with, Chelsea.

With the Blues currently languishing in 10th position in the English top flight, the same report suggests that Mourinho and his representatives have made it known that the 60-year-old would welcome a third stint at Stamford Bridge.

Apart from FC Porto, Chelsea are the only other club the Setubal native was able to win eight trophies with, and given that his wife and daughter still live in London, rejoining the two-time European champions seems to make sense on both a personal and professional level.

However, while this may have been a possibility under the club's previous regime, it seems that Todd Boehly and the rest of the EPL club's board want to stick with Graham Potter as manager despite his underwhelming start to life in London.

Roma currently find themselves in a battle for UEFA Champions League football next season, but are unlikely to challenge for the Serie A title as they trail league leaders Napoli by 16 points.
