Can Morocco Win World Cup? Regragui Gives Honest Answer
Teams have been patiently waiting to find out their destiny in Africa's premier club competition after CAF postponed the original draw in November for a later date. Now, though, Africa's biggest sides have discovered who their rivals in the next edition of the tournament will be.
Reigning champions Wydad Casablanca have been drawn alongside Petro de Luanda, JS Kabyile and AS Vita from the Democratic Republic of Congo in Group A, with the Botola Pro League leaders looking to add a third star to their crest when the season concludes.
The Moroccan giants qualified comfortably for the group stage after defeating Nigeria's River United 7-2 on aggregate.
The most successful club in the competition's history, Al Ahly, will be going up against Coton Sport, Sudanese giants Al Hilal, and Premier Soccer Champions Mamelodi Sundowns in Group B, with Swiss manager Marcel Koller hoping to add the illustrious Champions League trophy to his and his employers' cabinet. The Red Devils will be playing Sundowns for the second successive season in the competitions group stages.
The 10-time CAFCL champions have already won the Egyptian Super Cup this season, and are currently sitting at the top of the Egyptian Premier League log unbeaten.
