City of Jo'burg mocks Amakhosi
After a solid display against fellow Soweto giants at last weekend's derby in the DStv Premiership, the last thing Kaizer Chiefs fans and the club expected was to be trolled by a municipality.
The City of Jo'burg's Twitter page is known for making jokes for engagements on the Twitter timeline and this time, Amakhosi were on the receiving end.
Using the #KleenaJoburg hashtag, taken from the city's clean-up campaign that was launched in 2020, to combat litter build up in parts of Johannesburg, the deleted reads:
"No that we've recovered from the weekend that was, remember to throw your litter in the bin."

Chiefs' Twitter page and Kaizer Motaung Jr did not receive the joke well. The City of Jo'burg's response did not help the matter as Motaung Jr let the municipality know how he felt.
"Siyadlala nje (We're just joking), lighten up. Bunch of winners. You make Joburg great!" tweeted the municipality, to which Motaung Jr replied by tweeting: "Disgusting."
The tweet, which was posted just after 7 am this morning has now been deleted by the screenshots are circulating online.

Was it genuinely a joke? or does the municipality's social media team prefer the Buccaneers? either way, it's an awkward situation.
