Having been out of coaching for just over a year and with speculation mounting, three-time UEFA Champions League-winning manager Zinedine Zidane has dropped a massive hint that he plans on returning to the dugout soon.
PSG Respond To Claims About Mbappe's 'History-Making Contract'
A lot has been made of Zidane's absence from management, with many wondering when the football fraternity will see the French tactician in the dugout again.
The 50-year-old was last seen winning the 2020/21 LaLiga title with Los Blancos, but after an apparent fallout with club president Florentino Perez, the Marseille native departed the Santiago Bernabeu in June 2021.
However, it seems fans will not have to wait much longer for the man they call "Zizou" to return to the touchline, judging by his latest comments.
"I will be back soon. Wait, wait a little bit. Soon, soon. I'm not far from coaching again," the former Real boss told RMC Sport while in Paris recently.
During his first stint in charge of Real, the former playmaker etched his name into the club's history books as a manager when he led them to one of their most dominant runs in European football, guiding Los Merengues to three straight Champions League triumphs before leaving in 2018.
The 1998 FIFA World Cup winner returned for a second stint in the Spanish capital a year later and while he did not win the European Cup in that spell, he led Real to yet another LaLiga title.

It remains to be seen where Zidane ends up next, with recent reports linking him to the Juventus job, but with Didier Deschamps' contract with France set to expire after the 2022 FIFA World Cup, he could be in line to take over from his former national teammate.
