As he battles to break into the Kaizer Chiefs first team, starlet Happy Mashiane has been dealt a further setback, which came during Amakhosi's Macufe Cup exploits.

Having made just two appearances in all competitions this season, it is understandable why it was crucial for the 24-year-old to get some valuable minutes under his belt in the popular friendly match against Royal AM.
But it appears that it came at a cost for the player who has been ruled out for a few weeks after suffering a grade-one hamstring tear.
"We were out in Bloemfontein in the Macufe Cup, round about the 70th minute I wanted to reach out for the ball then I pulled my hamstring. The diagnosis from the doctor was they told me that I have a grade one hamstring injury," he told the club's media department.
Mashiane is on the mend and has given supporters a glimpse into his recovery process as he works with the club's medical staff to get back onto the pitch.
"So, my rehabilitation process is that I come every day in the morning to do some rehab with the physiotherapist, I do a bit of cycling and mostly I focus on the skillmill, which is one machine that I use mostly to strengthen my hammy"
"How I feel now compared to the time I got the knock. I feel much better and I'm in the healing process and I'm always attending rehab so I take my one day at a time"

"I was injured before. In my first year with the first team, I fractured my toe, so I was out for nine months. I couldn't jog, I couldn't play or do anything, so this one I can say that it's a minor injury to the one I had before," he explained.
