Report: Why Inter Refused To Sign Dybala

Report: Why Inter Refused To Sign Dybala

Reports suggest that Inter Milan were prepared to sign Paulo Dybala in the recent transfer window but manager Simone Inzaghi rejected the opportunity, opting to sign his compatriot instead.

The Four Players Mbappe Wanted PSG To Sign Revealed?

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri were ready to sign Dybala, with all the paperwork having been prepared, but the at the very last minute, Inter boss Inzaghi vetoed the deal.

Dybala was coming off an injury-plagued past couple of seasons at Juventus, and after running down his contract with the Bianconeri, he had become a free agent in the off-season.

Despite the injuries, though, the Argentine playmaker's talents were never in doubt, having helped Juve capture multiple league and cup titles.

Negotiations between Inter and the 29-year-old's camp were nearly successful, with the deal looking like a formality at one point, but the Italian tactician interjected at the 11th hour.

Inzaghi seemingly decided that he, instead, wanted to sign fellow Argentine Joaquin Correa on a permanent deal from Lazio, and walked away from the deal for Dybala as a result.

The playmaker went on to sign a three-year deal with Jose Mourinho's AS Roma, and has proved a revelation for the team from the Italian capital, finding the back of the net five times and assisting another two strikes in the nine appearances he has made to date for the Giallorossi.

Perhaps ironically, the latest goal he scored came at Inter's expense in Roma's 2-1 victory at the San Siro this past weekend.

The Milanese club now languishes in ninth position, and with the team in a poor run of form, Inzaghi could soon find himself out of a job.
