Amakhosi came into the tournament as favourites, being not only holders of the Engen Knockout but of the national Engen Champ of Champs title as well, having won the 2022 finals tournament,

However, having been drawn against Joburg City, Tuks and Panorama in the group phase, Chiefs, consisting of Mfundo 'Obrigado' Vilakazi failed to flatter as they struggled to progress, collecting just one point from a possible nine.

This left the door wide open for a motivated Sundowns outfit who swept aside all and sundry en route to the final, where they beat TS Galaxy on penalties.

In the ladies section, the University of Johannesburg defended their title, beating JVW with a narrow 1-0 win.

Naturally, it was the Brazilians who stood out in the individual awards with the duo of Thato Sibiya and Gosiame Ngobeni walking away with the defender of the tournament and striker of the tournament awards respectively.

Despite losing in the final, TS Galaxy's Gomolemo Kekana walked away with the Player of the Tournament and midfielder of the tournament awards.
