"He keeps on impressing week in week out and that's what has encouraged management to offer him a three-year senior team contract. They are looking at keeping all their promising youngsters in the first team and his proposed deal could see him stay at the club until June 2028," the insider stated.
A second source highlighted Pirates' shift toward nurturing homegrown talent and reducing reliance on external signings.

"You remember the team that Kosta Papic had? With the likes of the late Gift Leremi, Tso Vilakazi, Lebogang Mokoena, Excellent Walaza and Joseph Makhanya? Yes, that's what the team is trying to do again. Have more quality from their junior ranks and just buy where it is necessary and that's why they are offering Neo (Mokoena) this three-year deal," the second insider told the Siya crew.
Mokoena, 21, has made a solid impression in the DStv Diski Challenge, featuring in many games as a winger on either flank.
