SuperSport United will want revenge in their match against Orlando Pirates, while the Soweto giants will be out to protect their record this season when they face their Tshwane rivals.
The Buccaneers will be on the road to Mbombela Stadium for their Absa Premiership match against Matsatsantsa on February 20.
Despite some of their inconsistent results in cup competitions, Milutin Sredojevic's side has been impressive with their league form this season, with the team having lost only two matches so far with 11 matches remaining in their campaign.
Bucs have stretched their unbeaten league run to 15 matches, since their last loss in August, against Bloemfontein Celtic.
Sredojevic and his team will want to look at their first-round match results against SuperSport for inspiration, as they want to add to their points tally to keep up with Bidvest Wits and Mamelodi Sundowns at the top half of the log in their chase for the title this season.
Vincent Pule, Thembinkosi Lorch and Ben Motshwari scored the goals as Bucs defeated Matsatsantsa 3-1 in their first-round match at Orlando Stadium.
While the priority will be to collect as many points as possible from the remaining matches of the season, Bucs' technical team will also be pleased that they are closing in on reaching the club's record of an unbeaten run of 17 matches achieved by the teams of 1975 and 2005 respectively.
On 22 January 2005, Tyrene Arendse scored two goals as Bucs, who were log leaders at the time, beat Golden Arrows 3-2 in their league at the Johannesburg Stadium. The other Pirates goal in that match was scored by the late Gift Leremi.
Benedict Vilakazi and Steve Lekoelea were some of the other top performers for Bucs in those days.
