The clock is ticking and Mamelodi Sundowns have a few more months to make a decision on the option they have for the contract of versatile player Rivaldo Coetzee.
After a good start to the season under former coach Manqoba Mngqithi, Coetzee sustained an injury and new coach Miguel Cardoso is waiting for the player to be available to give him an opportunity to play.

Coetzee's career has been plagued by injury, but the former Ajax Cape Town man has always shown his quality whenever he gets an opportunity to play. Sundowns have shown their faith in the player, backing him during the times he has picked up injuries that have kept him out for months.
There are some considerations Sundowns will probably make before deciding on whether or not to keep the player beyond the end of this season.
One of them is Coetzee's fitness. The player has often picked up injuries and, as he gets older, there is the possibility that it won't be the last time he spends time on the sidelines
At 28, Coetzee still has some time on his side, but he'd need to stay injury free to give himself an opportunity of being in the team on a regular basis.

His agent, Mike Makaab, confirmed to the Siya crew when Sundowns need to make a decision on his future.
"Riva's option is only due at the end of May. It's both Riva and Jody February," Makaab said to the Siya crew.
