A defender who is strongly linked with Kaizer Chiefs could be nearing an exit from his club, with a big move pending for him, insiders have indicated.
As part of the plans to reinforce the squad after a disappointing first half of the season for Chiefs where the team dropped some crucial points as they are currently on 18 points, and in 6th place, 12 points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, Lwandile Mabuya has been identified as a transfer target.

The Richards Bay FC defender has been consistent for the KwaZulu-Natal outfit, having featured in all 13 Betway Premiership matches for them, despite the team's disappointing campaign with inconsistent results.
With Chiefs appearing to be undecided on the future of Reeve Frosler whose contract has entered the last six months, Mabuya has emerged as a candidate to replace the Gqeberha-born player.
"There have been discussions about Mabuya and it looks like the parties are close to reaching an agreement because the player could be on his way out of Richards Bay, and that I can promise you," said the source.

"Chiefs is the one club that I know that has been interested in the player but at this stage I can't promise you if that's where he is going. But expect him to make a big move in the coming weeks," the source said.
Despite being the first choice right-back under Nasreddine Nabi with 10 League appearances so far this season as Dillan Solomons has struggled for regular game time, Frosler is yet to have his contract extended following his last three-year extension in 2022, according to informants.
