With Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos set to announce his squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the Siya crew understands that a Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder is set for a return to the national team.
Broos withdrew Jayden Adams from the squad last year while the player was still at Stellenbosch FC, for disciplinary reasons. At the time, Broos did mention that "the punishment won't last forever".

The Siya crew has been told that Broos is open to having the player back in the squad and could include him for the upcoming qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho. The 23-year-old midfielder has been in good form since joining Sundowns from Stellies, forcing his way into the starting line-up within a short period of time. He's also found himself on the scoresheet on two occasions and this is an element to his game that Bafana will need to make life difficult for opponents.
Broos has a number of options in midfield with the likes of Teboho Mokoena, Thalente Mbatha and Luke le Roux, but an injury to Bathusi Aubass and the absence of Sphephelo Sithole could open the door for Adams to return.
Adams was part of the Africa Cup of Nations squad that finished third in Ivory Coast last year and Broos has always rated the player highly. Another chance looks set to be given to the player to make up for the past.

The Siya crew understands that Cassius Mailula is also set for a return to the national team, as his found good form while on loan to Wydad Casablanca from Major League Soccer club Toronto FC. Under the guidance of head coach Rulani Mokwena, the former Sundowns player is enjoying his football again and Broos is keen to have him back in the squad for the first time since 2023.
