Retired former professional footballer Ntokozo Sikhakhane is calling for the return of PSL football as soon as possible.
The PSL will be hoping to resume with their schedule after the clubs have given the green light to return to training.
The Absa Premiership has been suspended since mid-March but now during level 3 of the lockdown, clubs have been given the go-ahead to resume training.
"With my understanding and by the look of things, football should come back if countries like Germany and Spain have and are coming back. We can also come back. Those are the top countries and we must emulate them," said Sikhakhane.
"There's like only six games to go (for some teams). People are hungry for football and the excitement is there on who is going to win the league. But it must be played behind closed doors. I think a month would be enough if games could be played on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We would start a new season in August. The teams should start training for the league to resume in July," the ex-midfielder added.
