English Premier League Wrap 14 December 2019

Chelsea lost their sixth game of the Premier League season after falling to a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.

After a score-less first stanza, Dan Gosling found the breakthrough for the Cherries with six minutes remaining to condemn the Blues to a second straight league loss.

Despite the loss, the Blues will remain in the top four this weekend while Bournemouth have moved up to 14th.

Second-placed Leicester City fell ten points behind log- eaders Liverpool after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Norwich City at the King Power Stadium.

Teemu Pukki broke the deadlock for Norwich in the 26th minute but the Foxes levelled matters seven minutes before the break after a header by Jamie Vardy forced goalkeeper Tim Krul to score an own goal.

Burnley halted a three-game losing streak in the Premier League after edging Newcastle United 1-0 at Turf Moor.

Chris Wood eventually broke the deadlock for the Clarets two minutes before the hour-mark as Sean Dyche's men jumped up to 12th position.

Sheffield United moved up to fifth in the Premier League table after beating Aston Villa 2-0 at Bramall Lane.

After a scoreless first stanza, John Fleck netted a quick brace to give the Blades a two-goal cushion.

Villa had a chance to mount a comeback after they were awarded a penalty with 12 minutes remaining but Jack Grealish hit the crossbar.
