April 2022 was the last time the towering Serbian was on the scoresheet.
This was in a 3-1 win over Chippa United whilst in the colours of Kaizer Chiefs.
Since then, Nurkovic has been involved in a controversial saga involving Royal AM, which saw FIFA rule in favour of the striker for unfair dismissal, meaning he is arguably due approximately R12 million and the club was slapped with a transfer ban until they pay the player.
Having put all of that behind him, Nurkovic, now on the books of the Rockets, recently completed his first 90 minutes of football in some time has revealed why he is under no pressure to replicate the goalscoring feats that made him a darling of the Amakhosi supporters.
"I'm never putting myself under some huge pressure because it's unnecessary. The thing is that if you work hard, everything else will come, if you don't work hard, things will not go well for you. This is how football works," he told the club's media department.
"I felt during my career whenever I put in hard work, not just me but every player, things will come their way and football will give you everything back and the goals will come.
"The most important thing is to not put yourself first, put the team first and no matter who is scoring, the most important thing at the end of the day is the three points," he said.
