Siya sources have revealed that Swallows are believed to be keen to retain the services of former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi.
Insiders have revealed that the contract of the Nigerian ends in June and that talks are believed to take place in the coming weeks.
"He signed a very short contract when he joined but since he came to the team, he has done very well and his experience is vital for the team," a source indicated to the Siya crew.
"That's why management wants to extend his stay for at least another year. They don't want to distract him at the moment because everyone is focusing on the remaining games in the league.
"Once that is achieved, they will sit down with him and iron a way forward. But I can assure you they want to keep Akpeyi for next season," the source added.
The Siya crew reached out to Swallows, and chairman David Mogashoa, explained that assessments on the future of players are yet to be held.
"We have to evaluate each and everyone From DDC to our senior team. When I say everyone, I mean from the ball boys, our DDC players, staff and our DStv Premiership personnel," the chairman said, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.
"The assessment will evaluate the contribution to the club and once all that is done, a decision will be made. Everyone will be judged on the contribution they have made to the club," he added.
Akpeyi has also featured for Chippa United before joining Chiefs in 2019 and was a free agent when he joined Swallows.
