Shockwaves were sent through the local fraternity last week when it was reported in local media that Moroka Swallows have been put up for sale.
Further shock then emerged when subsequent reports noted that Marumo Gallants were the frontrunners for the status, and that a deal was quite close to being concluded, subject to it being ratified by the Premier Soccer League.
Now, insiders have informed the crew that Gallants, upon the possible completion of the purchase, are planning on relocating the club to Bloemfontein, where they will be based for the 2024/25 season.
In addition to a new home base, the Siya crew has been informed that the club are considering the return of Dylan Kerr, who was in charge of the club when they were last in the top flight.
The insiders have informed the crew that plans to relocate to the City of Roses are well underway and that current staff have been informed of the club's plans.
Attempts to contact Gallants' media department were unsuccessful at the time of publishing.
Gallants are no strangers to the top flight having played in the DStv Premiership for two seasons after purchasing the PSL status of Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila at the start of the 2021/22 season. They suffered relegation in the 2022/23 season even though they were quite impressive with their CAF Confederation Cup run.
