Steve Komphela may not be at Moroka Swallows, but there is an impact he is making on interim coach Musa Nyatama.
Swallows started the second half of the DSTV Premiership over the weekend without Komphela in the hot seat, with the Siya crew being informed that the experienced mentor is unlikely to occupy the bench at the club again this season.

Nyatama, who has had to pick up the pieces in a topsy-turvy few months for the club, is the man tasked with leading the team at the moment, expected to be until the end of the campaign. That, of course, is not new to him, having done so last season after Ernst Middendorp left last term.
His reign as interim coach did not start so well on Saturday, as the Dube Birds went down 1-0 to Polokwane City at Dobsonville Stadium. With new players coming in, after others were dismissed following a player strike over money back in December, it was difficult for Swallows to gel on the day.
Nyatama has a big job on his hands to ensure that the season does not go further downhill for the Soweto outfit.
"With coach Steve, I am learning a lot. Even now, I am still learning a lot. He is someone who brought that stability into the team and also giving information and sharing his experiences and the knowledge. He has brought a lot to us as a technical. He is missed obviously. Hoping to see him (back)."

"Look, we always try our level best to help the players. I am not the only one. There is a technical team working with me, so we are trying our level best to get the best out of the players. You could see how many players were new and how many days did we get to prepare the team? It has only been about 10 days. It will take time for them to gel, but we will get it there."
