Following the impressive form of his team in recent games, Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Steve Komphela is confident that there could still be a chance for the Glamour Boys to clinch the Absa Premiership title.
Speaking to Chiefs' official website, Komphela stressed the importance of their recent win against Cape Town City last weekend, which saw them move to second on the log. He said that the win is a confidence booster as there are still nine more games left to play and stated that in order for the Glamour Boys to challenge for the league, they will have to dig deep.
Our members reacted to Komphela's statement, with some agreeing with him, while others claiming that the coach has high hopes.
See below:
"The only position available is second on the log so forget about winning the league. Your defensive method against Wits and Sundowns cost you four points which would have given you 38 points, putting you on top of the log. I urge you to stop hoping for a new contract and leave us in peace."- Pks
"False hope indeed. Komphela and his troops are playing for top eight."- SL_hated_donkey
"I think we have a great chance to take the title, all that is needed is consistency like Ryan Moon's goalscoring prowess. Our defence is quite strong and confident except for creating schoolboy errors here and there, but they keep it tight at the back. Khompela has a team that can challenge for the title and maybe take the Nedbank Cup. It's all about how hungry and how much they want to quench their two-year or so cup drought. I believe in the team."- ksleg
Do you think Chiefs will be able to maintain their spot on the log this coming weekend?
