'Now DJ Cleo will make a song about his son replacing Khune’

'Now DJ Cleo will make a song about his son replacing Khune’

With Itumeleng Khune seemingly being replaced by Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Zoey Monyepao for the much-anticipated Carling Knockout All Star match, Soccer Laduma readers have now had their say on the matter.

What's the story?

The Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper was suspended for breaching the club's disciplinary code of conduct and while supporters would have hoped to see him in action in the star-studded team set to take on Carling Knockout winners Stellenbosch FC, their hopes may have just been dented by DJ Cleo's who worked his way into the latest starting XI.

With around two weeks to go until the match takes, SL readers took to social media to express their thoughts with some emphasising that Khune is irreplaceable.

Check out what they had to say:

"No one can replace Khune, he has a strong foundation he laid for this young ones to get a chance as well. No one is to replace anyone in life," says Morapedi Thinane.

"Khune must either move away from Kaizer Chiefs or retire," says Yonela Vakele.

"No one can replace him, but they can play their part. Not replacing him," says Makgorometja Bogonogomakoma Ralokha.

"But playing for Chiefs is boring, you can end up drinking. Imagine playing one game a month," says Sandile Bhodlinyma Bulwana.

"Nothing shocking here. He also started as a teen," says Dudu Keswa.

"Kaizer Chiefs and Carling Black Label Cup are different. Khune was voted by the people, not Chiefs. He should play," says Paul Moshoana.

"Now DJ Cleo is gonna make a song about his son replacing Khune," says Lebogang Manesa.

"I said it long time ago, his playing days are over, they should allow him to hit the bottle freely," says Chwaninho La Decima.

"Khune should have left Chiefs long time ago," says Moloi Tha Great.

"You can't replace your top customer Black Label. That's your loyal customer there," says Siya Bonga.

"He is going to retire at Chiefs," says Pule Moroenyane.

Meanwhile, another Mamelodi Sundowns player in the form of Sammy Seabi is reported to be unsettled at the club. He has struggled to break into the first team after returning from a loan spell at Sekhukhune United, and it is said that although nothing has been confirmed, the player could fins himself moving away from Masandawana during the January transfer window.

SL's Siya crew reported that he could be considering a loan move to get himself back on the pitch. Although, it is understood that head coach Rulani Mokwena would like to keep him in the squad to be utilised during the latter parts of the current season.

With that being said, check out what the SL readers had to say on the matter:

"Good luck to him, no player is permanent at Sundowns. Wish you all the best," says George Kgobe Wa Sundowns.

"Sundowns needs to release most of their redundant players to save PSL and make it competitive," says Moshanyana Sankatana.

"The agent wants to make some money, times are hard," says Leo Sithembiso Sibaya.

"This team looks like it's not settled or organised. There is no discipline at all; no inner peace. Money can't buy happiness," says Paul Zungeni.

"He must go to Cape Town Spurs or Kaizer Chiefs. He will get game-time there," says Thokozane Mbehle.

"He can leave as much as he likes. We had: Billiat, Castro and Dolly. We called them CBD and we were winning with that combination. They all left and we continue winning without them," says Tseliso Francis Mapetja.

"Anyone who wants to go can leave. It's between the club and him to sort it out," says Michael Edwards.

"They must release him because they don't need him," suggests S'phe Mnguni.

"Hope it's not true I saw him against Cape Town Spurs that guy is quality he is really for the future," says Sanelle Italia Dresh Biyela.

"There is nothing wrong with a player requesting to leave. It is their constitutional right. Competition is tough and if you can't handle it, you are free to go and of course at the right price, just like what you got when you signed the contract," says Thambulo Mudeli Elly.
