Mamelodi Sundowns have extended the contract of Bafana Bafana star Aubrey Modiba, according to the player's agent.

The former SuperSport United baller who can play both at left-back and in midfield has received interest from clubs abroad, so Downs decided to act quicklu.

The Brazilians are said to have offered Modiba a two-year extension to his current deal which expires in June 2025, rewarding him for his performance this season and at AFCON.

Nigeria's head coach Jose Peseiro shared his thoughts on his team's penalty shootout win over South Africa in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final on Wednesday.

The Super Eagles advanced to the final of the tournament, where they'll face hosts Ivory Coast, after beating Bafana Bafana 4-2 on penalties in Bouake.

Peseiro hailed Bafana as the most organised team in the tournament, but felt that his players deserved to win as they were better in the penalty shootout.

"It's like the Nigerian coach was only depending on penalties," says nkosinathimsizazwe3.

"That chance which fell to Mudau in the last minute was our passage to the final. A box player, a good finisher and a good header of the ball would have won us the game. Even the 1st half, we had three chances we created, we could have done better," says Soccer Fanatic.

"It's so unfortunate that you disguise your hate for players from other teams by making a shallow analysis. If you were a football fan (not just a team's fan) you would have seen that scoring goals is now the whole team's responsiblity, as is defending. Nigeria is in the final with their top striker having scored only one goal. France won the world cup with their number one striker not having scored a goal. The list is endless of course," replies msanisto.

"Ngezana is doing well and his value has increased to R1,4 billion and age is on his side. Him or Xulu???? Come on coach. Now that we have lost we are at liberty to analyse everything. We did not want to destabilize the team our great players who did tremendously well.

"Some individuals in the striking force did not deserve to be there. This thing of relying on foreign strikers at club level is killing us. Sundowns rely too much on Shalulile. You could see in our game against Nigeria, we lacked a good finisher," says Soccer Fanatic.

"The same Ngezana who was costing Chiefs? Trying to market Chiefs players hey... None of them fit in the national team set up. the Sundowns players are tops, the best in the country," replies oupa.phiri27.

"We were all over Nigeria and our back build ups and ball possession frustrated them. We should come home with goalkeeper golden boot award and the best playing team," says Zohlah.
