Mamelodi Sundowns have extended the contract of a Bafana Bafana player who has been starring at the Africa Cup of Nations, according to the South African's agent.
The player is Sundowns left back Aubrey Modiba who has received interest from clubs abroad so the club has decided to act quickly.

Due to his excellent performances at Afcon, the likes of Simba SC may have also inquired about the services of the defender, along with other clubs.
Siya sources have indicated that the Brazilians could have offered Modiba a new two-year contract which is expected to run until June 2027.
The source added that the former SuperSport United player's contract was going to expire in June 2025 but the club had taken an early initiative to keep their prized asset at the club for even longer.
"The deal for the new contract is as good as done. He has signed a new two-year deal. You know what Sundowns are doing now is that once there is interest in their player they offer them a new contract. They have done that with (Motobhi) Mvala, (Teboho) Mokoena and now it's Modiba," said the Siya source.
"They make sure they don't lose their players easily and hence the new deal for Aubrey (Modiba) as well," the source observed.
A second Siya source added that the new deal has been improved when compared to the original one that Modiba had signed when he had joined from SuperSport United.
"They had to make sure they give him a new and improved two-year deal so that he is also happy to stay. You know that he is good and there has been interest from other clubs before and that's what has twisted Sundowns' arm to let him sign a new contract which all parties involved agreed and signed. It will run until June 2027," the source told Soccer Laduma.
When contacted for comment, the player's agent Glyn Binkin confirmed that the player has signed a new two-year deal.
"Yes, it's true he has signed a new two-year deal until June 2027. Yes, the initial contract was ending in June 2025 but he has a new two-year deal at the club," the former Bafana Bafana team manager stated.
