Let's take a closer look at what they had to say...

The Tshwane derby between Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United could carry more significance than in previous years and rival the Soweto derby.

With both Soweto giants experiencing tough starts to the DStv Premiership season, the Tshwane clubs occupy the top two, with reigning league champions Sundowns leading by two with as many games in hand.

If Matsatsantsa maintain their current form, they could be level, if not above Masandawana when they clash on 28 November.

Gavin Hunt's men will have two games before the derby, with Downs only playing AmaZulu on the 8th, three days before their African Football League final second leg.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Tshwane Replacing Soweto Derby In Importance" story:

"PSL = Pretoria Soccer League. Soweto derby is about bragging rights whereas Pretoria derby is about winning the league," says thulamda.

"Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will remain the two big teams in SA, whether you like or not. Go eat maltabella and relax," says TT Wa Lekhosi who added:

"In your dreams Mr. Those are small teams and will be playing in a small stadium. You just wish it to be like that, and you are still miles away from that.

"The importance of a derby is not about the positions in the league," says peterchongo.

"Siyabonga 'The Baby' Mabena was 8 years old when Chiefs last won a cup and now the boy might win AFL, something many of their players could only dream of!" says Armour

"Soweto derby does not add any value. Watch Pirates versus Sundowns, now that is a game," says BrutuswamaJuju.

"Mamelodi Sundowns fill Loftus alone when playing CAF rivals. It has never happened before in Soweto. So, it becomes painful for Downs' SA rivals when they play in a full capacity Loftus or Lucas Moripe.

"Tables are turning in favour of the best performing club in the continent. Anti-Downs fans get angry whenever positive things are being said about Sundowns," says lombosngoepe.

"They're can't fill Lucas Moripe with free entry," replies Richard wa Lekhosi.

"In that Tshwane derby, there will be approximately 2 000 supporters combined," says oupa.phiri27.

"SSU will not pose a treat to Sundowns, they lack consistency. I won't be surprised if they lose the next 3 games in a row," says Dominate-downs.

"That's just a dream, it will never happen. They will win all their games," replies mthembinkosi46.

"I watched SuperSport yesterday against TS Galaxy. They won because of Galaxy's mistakes. They are playing nonsense," replies The godfather.

"The issues affecting the two Soweto teams have to do with how they achieved success in the past or even now. Unfortunately, football is changing and some benefits will no longer be enjoyed. There is a reason coaches that came to these clubs won the league or cups some without any sound achievement prior to joining these two.

"We have seen coaches getting fired by both teams after winning the league, why? Because there are ways to win the league, even with an incompetent coach but now those ways are becoming too risky to take," says SkyKBY.

Read: Why Rulani Was Not Nominated For CAF Award

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena was surprisingly not nominated for the CAF Awards in the Coach of the Year category, despite an unbeaten record in CAF competitions since taking over as sole head coach in October last year.

When CAF announced the nominees for their annual awards, Sundowns (Club of the Year), Ronwen Williams (Goalkeeper of the Year), Bafana star Percy Tau and Namibian striker Peter Shalulile (Player of the Year), all received nominations, as Rulani missed out.

Indications are that Mokwena was not nominated because Sundowns did not win a continental title, as the club coaches who were nominated, Al Ahly's Marcel Koller and USM Alger's Abdelhak Benchikha won the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup respectively.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Why Rulani Was Not Nominated For CAF Award" story:

"It is not a train smash and no hard feelings. The coach has proven his abilities and Sundowns, through the leadership of coach Mokwena is increasingly stretching it's footprint across the entire continent. A deserved recognition will come at the right time," says kidoman64.

"What's the use of being nominated and knowing very well that you are not going to win? For me that is just adding numbers.

"We all know that Rulani has a bright future, so another five seasons for him before he can coach teams like Al Ahly and Zamalek," says BrutuswamaJuju.

"I don't think he should have been nominated. CAF must award productive people who achieved results. Rulani is a hard working person and will soon achieve those type of results and a big trophy. We need to stop being biased as South Africans," says lombosngoepe.

"It's water under the bridge," says Mshefan wa Mo Downs.

"Rulani is the most intelligent coach to have ever graced our continent, rest assured he will get nominated next year and win, so we are not bothered by his omission, once he wins the Champions League and Super League, who else will they pick?" says SkyKBY.
