Siya crew sources close to Kaizer Chiefs have indicated that the club may be monitoring Stellenbosch FC left back Fawaaz Basadien.

The source revealed that left back is a position they need to strengthen, and that the former Moroka Swallows defender is the favoured option.

Another source statednthat Amakhosi may look to bring in the player during the January transfer window, but it all depends on Stellies who've already lost Sibongiseni "Ox" Mthethwa to the Soweto giants.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Chiefs To Sign A New Left Back?" story:

"A very good player, I hope this comes to fruition," says sizweking.

"He's a very good left back," says Saavedra.

"Yeah, Basadien both with van Rooyen, are very good players who can even play for Bafana, especially van Rooyen. He's a well- cooked right-sided player, I like his playing style," says tm194441.

Mamelodi Sundowns may have to play their Carling Knockout Cup round of 16 fixture against TS Galaxy with a depleted squad, with up to 13 players unavailable.

Masandawana will face TS Galaxy on Wednesday evening away from home at the Mbombela Stadium, which comes too soon for seven of their Bafana internationals who only return from the Ivory Coast tomorrow.

Ronwen Williams, Khuliso Mudau, Themba Zwane, Teboho Mokoena, Aubrey Modiba, Mothobi Mvala and Grant Kekana are away on Bafana duty, while Sipho Mbule, Lesiba Nku, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Bathusi Aubaas, and Abubaker Nasir are nursing injuries and niggles.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Sundowns Blow: 13 Key Players Out?" story:

"As long as there will be 11 vs 11, there's no worries at Masandawana," says kagisodisemelo who added:

"Some fans from Cry Babies fc will be shocked on Wednesday when Sundowns go to the next round."

"The advantage of having depth," says 078997771m

"But this game can be easily scheduled for 24 October because Sundowns' next league game is on 29 October against Swallows," says Yellow dawana.

"Even if we do not win against Galaxy, it's not gonna affect us in any way because we are fully focused on the Super Cup, Champions leqgue and we have already won PSL title.

"This is going to give our fringe players a chance to prove themselves to the coach that they worth it to play in the first team," says Cutter.

"Against all odds KA BO YELLOW," says Chupe deSAMBA.

"This is not something new. Sundowns were playing in A Champions League away game, they returned in the afternoon and they played Pirates the following day in the BP Top 8 Semi Final. This is an old trick.

"The question is how Pirates end up playing three games less than Sundowns because they were both playing Champions league football," says thulamda.

"How can they schedule a match for Bafana Bafana when there is a cup competition on the way," says Dominate-downs.

"Sundowns have close to 100 players, there's no need to complain. A team needs just 20. Why keep players that you don't need," says oupa.phiri27.

"Can you count them and tell us their names. According to us Sundowns supporters, we know Sundowns has 36 players including the loaned ones and Pirates has got 39 players. I don't know about Chiefs," replies bhekilekhuleni6.

"Khoza and Kaizer's evil plans to disturb Sundowns. They can take their Beer Cup. We have serious tournaments to participate in. It's not our fault that their teams are weak. They need to get a life," replies Saavedra.
