The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reportedly decided to punish Al Ahly for what transpired after they were eliminated from the African Football League by Sundowns.

The Red Devils crashed out in the AFL semi-finals at the hands of Rulani Mokwena's troop who progressed to the final with a 1-0 aggregate win.

After the 0-0 second leg result, the Al Ahly fans lashed out at Senegalese referee Issa Sy, throwing bottles at him after the full-time whistle went.

According to an Egyptian news outlet, CAF's disciplinary panel have fined the Cairo-based side R2.2 million for the ill-discipline of their fans.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "CAF 'Punish' Al Ahly For Actions After Sundowns Loss" story:

"The Egyptians should brace for worse, the tide is changing and soon their days of dominance in Africa will be over," says makausemakause53.

"This guys think they own African football after their historic CAF wins through blaze lights in Cairo," says Vha Musanda Cosmos na Bucs.

"The spoilt brats should be punished. How I wish these prompt actions can be copied here in Mzansi with no suspended sentences at all," says Manephilly.

"Are you sure there were no Kaizer Chiefs fans there. Sure sure?" says Kunene94.

"That's how they are in the same Whatsapp group with Chiefs' hooliganism, they don't accept loses," says ddmashabe.

"I'm not sure if the referee could have done more than he did to help them. I mean he gave them penalty which never existed, and he denied downs a clear penalty for the foul on Maseko," says Downs rule.

Khuliso "Sailor" Mudau has become the latest Mamelodi Sundowns player to attract interest from abroad, revealed the Siya Crew.

The 2022/23 DStv Premiership Defender of the Season has impressed in club and national team colours this season and is likely to make Hugo Broos' AFCON squad on current form.

Mudau is reportedly being monitored by English Premier League side Burnley, the same club as his Bafana teammate Lyle Foster, with the Siya source claiming that head coach Vincent Kompany has shown interest in the player.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Insider: Mudau Monitored By EPL Club" story:

"I'm not a Sundowns fan but this boy is doing an amazing job. I always wish for him to go abroad and it looks like things are coming together for him. We are 100% behind you," says Masandi87.

"The timing in his tackles leaves one amazed, especially sliding tackles. Always spot on," says ghettovillage411.

"Khuliso deserves every good thing coming to him, he respects his craft," says Shikabala.

"The best right back in Africa," says Saavedra.

"Ja, that is very true, World Class this one. You can't even think of anyone who is better than him, even in the past generations. He can compete in the UEFA Champions League with the likes of Man City," says mthunzijack7.

"At Sundowns a player can only become better, it's ultimate school of soccer excellence. Billiat, Mphela, Castro and killed their careers. Hype and popularity doesn't kick a football," says His Majesty Yellow PSL Pitbull.

"But it was said that Sundowns kill players' careers?" says makausemakause53.

"Even the decorated Hlompho Kekana emphasized that at Sundowns, your talent alone won't cut it because there are just too many talented players, which effectively cancels out the talent factor. An X factor is the only way out," replies mthunzijack7.
