Following their win in the Nedbank Cup over Golden Arrows, Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, who walked away with Man of the Match award, admitted that the club's coach, Steve Komphela, gave them a tongue-lashing during the half-time break. The Glamour Boys came out a different side after that, scoring three goals to go the Last 16.
Our members have reacted to Khune's statement, with some siding with Komphela as his halftime talk seemed to be what changed the game for Amakhosi. Here are some of our members' comments:
"It was necessary, especially in the first half. Chiefs was very strong on the right-hand side and it shows how influential Rama and Molangoane are in the line-up. Komphela needs to work on the left-hand side to balance the squad. Well done boys, Arrows are not pushovers." – EagleEye
"That's what we expect from you guys, nothing less, nothing more. #KC4life." – sabbath mapsanganhe
"Attacking football mentality without Maluleka won us the game." – Pks
"I think it was good for Steve to be harsh on them during the half-time talk. They were more relaxed in the first half and I was not impressed with Zulu's performance. We all know how good he is, but he never gives us that creativity. When playing with Moon and Castro, we want to see him (Zulu) putting more crosses in. Hope Steve will deal with this." – tebogo gm mahlaba
