First half goals from Innocent Nshuti and Gilbert Mugisha sealed a 2-0 win for Rwanda over South Africa at the Huye Stadium in Butare on Tuesday afternoon.
It was a shock result for Bafana Bafana after they overcome Benin 2-1 in their first qualifier over the weekend in Durban, with the result in Rwanda bringing an end to their 12-match unbeaten run.
The defeat left Hugo Broos' side in second place in Group C with three points from two game, a point behind leaders Rwanda.
Here's what the readers had to say on the "Bafana Suffer Shock Loss To 140th-Ranked Rwanda" story:
"Bafana need to be banned. We don't need the national team, rather take Sundowns, simple. It's just boring, this is why we don't even follow them," says npmoloi22.
"I'm surprised that Aaron Mokwena and Doctor Khumalo never elaborated on the effects the lack of rest and preparation would have had on the players, but instead, they analysed the game as if it was normal.
"I'm disappointed because they are part of the panel as experts to help us understand based on their experiences, the boys endured a four hour flight plus another four hour bus trip, no, that's not fair. You can have Messi and Ronaldo in your team, come Tuesday, they won't perform.
"SAFA is at fault here, they should have hired a plane instead of using commercial schedules to save costs," says SkyKBY.
"The blame game is South Africa mentality," says Manephil.
"Sundowns lost, not Bafana," says makhubele787.
"'They want to go to the World Cup' Broos said, impressed by Bafana's squad. The question is, TO DO WHAT?" says psputuka who added:
"What happened to so called Sundowns players who won against Benin?"
"Maybe they didn't receive their bonus for the win against Benin," says poemnvestments.
"Really shocked? I can tell you worse is still to come," says khosilannete0.
"Sundowns players failed us today," says T.sibiya.
"Yeah, I rest my case. You are all bitter because your club's players are not in the squad," replies thabot.boshielo.
"This is the Bafana Bafana we know. They are very afraid of going to the World Cup finals. Somebody said we won against Benin because of Sundowns' players, its seems they were not available in the game," says oupa.phiri27.
"I fail to understand why players cannot adapt. Then they ask why we are not supporting the national team. Like the commentator said, the conditions are not conducive for the passing game, but guess what these guys did? They have to wait for the coach at half time to tell them otherwise, really?" says mango2906.
"Williams didn't want to get dirty, that's why he couldn't dive for that goal," says zandisiletsefu.
