SuperSport United's DStv Diski Challenge player Thabang Makhubu was one of the stand out performers during the tour of the UK recently and has now set himself a target after being promoted to the first team.
The attacking midfielder was one of the standout performers in the UK, particularly in the 4-4 draw with Queens Park Rangers where he was able to make the team play with some of his defence splitting passes.

Now back in South Africa after spending a week in the UK with the Diski Challenge side, the youngster is determined to get some game time in the first team under head coach Gavin Hunt, who has not been afraid to give young players an opportunity throughout his coaching career.
"For me, this trip was about learning and gaining experience. I found that England is far better than our country in terms of facilities and the way they treat football. I went to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and it's so big, and I kept on wondering how it's possible that people fill that stadium all the time. As much as they fill the stadium, why can't we fill our stadiums? So, I feel blessed. I gained something from the trip and I know that I need to do more, not only on my football, but physically as well. I need to work on my body, so I told myself that I am going to go to the gym more because I am training with the first team," Makhubu said to the Siya crew.
"My goal was to be in the first team at SuperSport, so there is a good chance that I can play. It all goes down to me and what it is I do off the field after training with the first team. Do I train by myself or just sit and wait for someone to pick me up? But seeing how things work in Europe, I have to take this chance and say 'this is what I want and this is what I should do'.
