SuperSport United have previously been criticised for their frequent deals with Mamelodi Sundowns but they have leveraged well on the recent big sale of Thapelo Maseko to improve on their squad when compared to last season.
SuperSport were worse off from their deals with Sundowns last season after they sold goalkeeper Ronwen Williams to their neighbours and loaned three players from Sundowns, Grant Margeman, shot-stopper Ricardo Goss and Thabang Sibanyoni.

All three of the loaned players could not play against Sundowns, which negatively affected SuperSport, if you consider that those loan signings were more or less the spine of the team.
Goss was signed as a replacement for Williams but could not play against Sundowns, Margeman was also key for United in midfield but also ineligible against his parent club and Sibanyoni, who provided a viable option upfront could also not face the Brazilians.
This season, Matsatsantsa have made another substantial disposal of Maseko to Sundowns but unlike last season, they have leveraged well on the deal, as they secured Margeman on a permanent transfer and crucially signed goalkeeper Washington Arubi, who inspired Marumo Gallants to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup last season.
Although Etiosa Ighodaro may not be eligible to come up against Sundowns, SuperSport secured the services of Terrence Dzvukamanja from Orlando Pirates, who is a proven goal-scorer in the PSL.
All in all, SuperSport seem to have tied up the loose ends to remain competitive despite selling Maseko and Patrick Maswanganyi to Pirates.
"It was a tough one to let Thapelo Maseko go but you have to take a lot of things into account. Financially he is now set for life and we have won the league already. So it was hard to turn down the offer," Hunt said on Radio 2000.
The former Chiefs coach also confirmed that they had no issues selling Patrick Maswanganyi, who had just one season with United, to the Buccaneers.
"Maswanganyi's move was a weird one. When I got here he wasn't playing and didn't even have a contract. But I immediately said he must be signed. Now he's moved to a club that has a lot of competition in that position. But like Maseko, financially he's sorted now," he said.
