Stellenbosch FC have confirmed the departure of their captain Rafiq De Goede, but the club's central defence is in safe hands with the progression of three youth players.

The Cape Winelands outfit on Thursday via their official social media channels confirmed that the 29-year-old has departed the club, after nearly eight years of services.
He is expected to join Maritzburg United.
"The club can confirm that after consultation with Rafiq De Goede and his representatives we have accepted a transfer offer from a PSL Club. Rafiq was one of the longest serving players at the club and has always been exemplary on and off of the field. We sincerely thank Rafiq," the club tweeted"
Despite the exit of their longest serving player, Stellies' central defence is in safe hands with the perfect combination of youth and experience.
Coach Steve Barker will still be able to call on teenagers Olwethu Makhanya (18) – who was handed a new deal by the club – and Oswin Andries (19). While Athenkosi Mcaba (20) is on the mend after a long-term injury.
As cover for their youthful defenders, Stellies are also able to call on Lasse Sobiech (31) and Vusi Sibiya (28)
Stellies get their campaign back underway with a home clash against Chippa United at the Danie Craven Stadium on Friday 30 December.
