Simthandile Sishi has joined reigning DStv Diski Challenge winners Stellenbosch FC from Stars of Africa Academy.
The towering defender had been part of renowned youth coach Farouk Khan's academy since the age of 12 and remarkably formed part of their SAB team aged just 14.
For his talent and exploits, Sishi earned himself regular junior national team call-ups and even donned the armband for the under-17 national team.

Prior to joining the Cape Winelands outfit, the Siya crew learnt that Sishi spent a period being assessed by Kaizer Chiefs under the watchful eye of coach Vela Khumalo, someone he worked with at the junior national teams.
But according to Khan, Chiefs turned down the opportunity to sign the player as part of their DDC squad for the 2022/23 season.
"A rare talent. We had him in the Academy from age 12 and he started playing in the SAB at age 14. I wanted him to join Chiefs but unfortunately, he did not pass the trials," Khan tweeted about the youngster on his official page.
Khan has been known for producing some of the finest talent through the years with the likes of May Mahlangu, Tefu Mashamaite, Surprise Ralani, Tokelo Rantie, Luther Singh and Pule Maraisane, who are just a few names among the many to have emerged from the Mayfair-based academy through the years.
