The police have provided an update on Iqraam Rayners' alleged assault case amid his pending move to Mamelodi Sundowns.
As reported by the Siya crew, Rayners is expected to be unveiled by the Brazilians, with the club's head coach Manqoba Mngqithi having already confirmed his interest in the signing.

The Bafana Bafana striker is already with the League champions, having been spotted this week with his new teammates in training, while both Sundowns and Stellenbosch FC have been yet to officially confirm the move.
The 28-year-old is understood to have agreed a long-term contract with the former African champions.
Prior to leaving the Western Cape, Rayners had an assault case opened against him. The police confirmed to Soccer Laduma earlier this week that a case of alleged assault was opened against a soccer player at Stellenbosch Police Station though without confirming his name.
The alleged victim in the matter is known as a community activist in the Stellenbosch area. As reported by Kickoff, according to an eyewitness who was at the Cape Winelands' hangout spot at the time of the incident, the accused in this case might have been acting in self-defence during the incident, thus it is believed that the player could lay a counter charge.

The Siya crew investigated further, and the police have also been contacted again, providing an update on the matter:
"Be advised that the suspect in this matter has not laid any counter case/s at this stage. The initial case of assault GBH by the victim is still under investigation. No arrests have yet been made. Therefore, no court date has been determined yet," confirmed Western Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Malcolm Pojie, in a statement to the Siya crew.
