Matsheke was loaned out to Swallows FC (now Moroka Swallows) last season by Amakhosi, who let the midfielder go. The Siya crew understands he has signed a one-year deal, with an option to extend for another campaign.
In a statement released by the club on Wednesday morning, Stellenbosch coach Steve Barker said: "Darrel adds quality and depth to our midfield positions, specifically as a defensive midfielder. He is technically sound, plays with a lot of energy and intensity, and has the ability to break down attacks, and once he has done that he has the ability to then progress the ball either through the quality of his passing or by carrying the ball.
"We welcome him to the SFC family and are confident that he will add much value to our squad."
