Stellenbosch head coach Steve Barker has suggested that they missed out on using Mamelodi Sundowns tactics to stop Kaizer Chiefs speedy attacker Ashley Du Preez.
Du Preez tormented his former side Stellies with his pace for Chiefs in their 2-1 win over the weekend.
The 25-year old won an early penalty for Amakhosi and converted the spot-kick with ease and his pace, alongside Christian Saile Basomboli continued to give the Cape Winelands outfit problems, as their high line led to goalkeeper Sage Stephens red-carded for stopping Keagan Dolly's lob, which was goal-bound, using his hand out of the box.

Barker, who got the best out of Du Preez at Stellenbosch, explained how they planned to stop his former striker.
"When you play against a player with the pace (Du Preez), even Saile has got some really good pace, the key is obviously not to allow the space behind which sometimes it's not always avoidable," Barker said in a press conference.
"But when there's no pressure on the ball, you gotta defend a bit deeper and deny the space behind you, which maybe we didn't do as we had planned to do. Those are one of the tactics."
Barker also revealed that the other tactics to use to stop Du Preez, is to tackle him and not allow him to pass, something that Sundowns were good at doing with he was still with Stellies.
"The other tactics is sometimes to tackle him (Du Preez) and not allow him to get past you, as Sundowns would often do when he was playing for Stellenbosch," he went on.
"So, ja those are the attributes that he has and he's difficult to play against, so that was the plan to deny the space behind especially when there's no pressure on the ball," he added.
Chiefs, chasing a second-place finish after winning four games in a row, will be back in action on home soil on Saturday evening against basement side Marumo Gallants.
