Stellenbosch head coach Steve Barker has revealed that Kaizer Chiefs players apologized to them for alleged bad officiating after their loss over the weekend.
Chiefs continued to get penalties and red-cards for the the opposition, as in all their four consecutive victories in all competitions prior to the win over Stellies, they had either a penalty in their favour or a red-card.
Against Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby, Innocent Maela was sent off before Chiefs got a last-gasp winner in a 1-0 victory.

In their second win over Richards Bay, goalkeeper Salim Magoola also got an early red-card, as Amakhosi won 1-0.
Arthur Zwane's charges also got a penalty to edge Casric Stars 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup last 16 and also got a spot-kick in a 3-2 win over Maritzburg United.
Barker gave Chiefs credit for forcing the opposition to make errors after they too conceded a penalty and had goalkeeper Sage Stephens red-carded early in the game but criticized the referee for not favouring them with other decisions.
"Before I get to the anger part, one must congratulate Chiefs, they seem to be a team that puts teams under a lot of pressure, when you're getting 11, 12 penalties a season," Barker said in a press conference.
"Last six matches three red-cards in the first-half to the opposition, well done to them, they must be doing something right in creating problems for the opposition.
"(But) disappointed with the ref. If you remember the game, I think they had double figure free-kicks around the box. I'm not denying that some of those free-kicks were free-kicks but I'm not sure why we didn't get any free-kicks in the final third, around the box," he said.
Barker went on and revealed that Chiefs players apologized to them for the alleged bad officiating and questioned whether match officials are intimidated by the "gold and black jersey" or the crowd.
"When the opposition even apologises about the performance of the ref, credit to the players for recognizing that, being bold enough to say what they said," he continued.
"It's four penalties against us against Chiefs in the last two games. We were denied a penalty in the 97th minute in the quarter-final of the MTN8, which was given.
"Those are the things not sure what it is, whether it's the gold and black jersey that is intimidating, the crowd that is intimidating, I'm not sure what it is but I just thought we didn't get too much of the rub of the green," he added.
