New Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter will come up against his former side AmaZulu in the DStv Premiership on Saturday evening.

DStv Premiership

Teams: Sekhukhune United v AmaZulu

Date: 31 December 2022

Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium

Time: 17h30

Sekhukhune had a string of poor results before the FIFA World Cup break, with only one win in their last ten matches.

Babina Noko halted a two-game losing streak with a 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy in their last match before the break but that was not enough to save Kaitano Tembo, who was relieved of his duties.

Truter was announced as Tembo's replacement during the recess and his immediate task will be taking Sekhukhune out of the relegation zone.

AmaZulu, meanwhile, had enough time to lick their wounds after narrowly losing the MTN8 final to Orlando Pirates in their last competitive game before the break.

In so far as the league form is concerned, Usuthu closed off league duties with a narrow win over Stellenbosch that extended their unbeaten run to four matches.

Romain Folz's charges are placed seventh on the table with 17 points.
