Gallants enter the encounter on the back of two successive defeats, including Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Sekhukhune United.
The loss to Brandon Truter's charges has left the Limpopo side in 15th position, but a win could take the side up to 12th spot.
Gallants are only two points above Maritzburg, who find themselves at the foot of the standings after their 2-1 loss to TS Galaxy in their final game of 2022.
The Team of Choice have failed to win their last seven league games and will be desperate to pick up their first away win of the season.
Maritzburg have also bolstered their squad with the signing of former Stellenbosch FC defender Rafiq de Goede this week.
