Sundowns, meanwhile, extended their winning streak to 11 matches after edging SuperSport United 1-0 in the Tshwane derby on Monday and equalled their own record they set in 2006/07 under former coach Gordon Igesund.

The Brazilians, 14 points clear at the top of the table, will set a new league record of consecutive victories if they beat Chiefs.

Sundowns have already put Chiefs to the sword this season after registering a 4-0 thrashing at Loftus Verselfd in August.
