Chiefs made it through to the quarter-finals after drubbing SuperSport United 4-0 courtesy of goals by Gaston Sirino, Yusuf Maart, Ranga Chivaviro, Ashley Du Preez.

Sundowns, meanwhile, also had a convincing passage to the quarter-finals, after hammering Golden Arrows 5-0 with goals from Thapelo Morena, Iqraam Rayners, Mothobi Mvala, Peter Shalulile and Kutlwano Letlhaku.
The Brazilians have played three league games since then, as they beat Royal AM 2-1 and thrashed Cape Town City 3-0 in between a 1-0 defeat to Polokwane City.
The last time the sides met in a cup game was in the MTN8 semi-finals last season, where Masandawana progressed to the final with a 3-2 aggregate win.
