The Brazilians suffered their first defeat of the league campaign after going down 1-0 to Polokwane City on Sunday afternoon.
It was a disappointing outing for the defending champions, who failed to register a single shot on target against Rise and Shine.
Sundowns will now look to that around against a City side looking to go on a good run of form.
Eric Tinkler's side come into the encounter on the back of a goalless draw against Magesi over the weekend, although they did beat SuperSport United before the stalemate.
The Citizens will have happy memories of travelling to the capital, as they handed Sundowns their only loss of the 2023/24 season on the final day of the campaign.
