Bafana Bafana will be looking to end their 2025 AFCON qualifying campaign on a high when they host South Sudan on Tuesday evening at DHL Cape Town Stadium.
2025 Africa Cup of Nations
Teams: South Africa v South Sudan
Date: 19 November 2024
Venue: DHL Stadium
Time: 18h00
Bafana qualified with two games to spare after South Sudan eliminated their closest challengers Congo-Brazzaville, with a 3-2 win prior to South Africa playing against Uganda in their penultimate game of Group K.
Hugo Broos' charges remained professional and focused, as they beat the Cranes 2-0 courtesy of goals by Thapelo Morena and Patrick Maswanganyi away from home.
South Africa topped the group by one point ahead of the final round of games.
The Bright Stars have nothing to play for but they could finish as high as third should they win and Congo don't get maximum points against Uganda.
South Africa won the reverse fixture 3-2 in September courtesy of a brace by Oswin Appollis and a last-gasp winner by Thalente Mbatha.
Here's how they line up:
South Africa: Williams, Mudau, Ngezana, Dortley, Basadien, Aubaas, Mokoena, Morena, Appollis, Maswanganyi, Rayners
Subs: Chaine, Stephens, Mobbie, Mbatha, Modiba, Makgopa, Mofokeng, Le Roux, Mvala, Mokwana, Tutus, Sibisi
