Mamelodi Sundowns have three players walking a suspension tightrope ahead of another crucial fixture this coming weekend.
Lyle Lakay, Mothobi Mvala and Teboho Mokoena have all collected three yellow cards and one more – when they host Cape Town City in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday – could cost them a place in the team for Sunday's cup tie.
The Brazilians travel to Chatsworth Stadium in Durban for the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup against high flying Royal AM on Sunday and the trio are key players for Masandawana, who are expected to retain the league title this season.
It now remains to be seen whether the technical team will risk Lakay, Mvala and Mokoena when they take on City on Freedom Day with one eye on the cup match or accept that all three are a caution away from missing that encounter.
Downs do have plenty of back-up because of the depth in their squad, so whether they rotate the team on Wednesday or not whatever line-up they put out against Royal AM will still most likely get the job done.
