The EFL Cup encounter between Liverpool and Southampton will take place today at Anfield. The home side's performances have not been impressive, however they will seek to turn the corner around against The Saints.

Milan will travel away as they face off against Juventus in the Copa Italia. The home side will seek to retain their title, however Milan will not be an easy task to overcome.

Celta play hosts to Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey. The home side will want to take advantage of playing in their background against the star-studded Madrid squad.

Egypt will face off against Ghana in the AFCON tournament. The Pharaoh's are in a much better form as compared to their opponents and will want to continue with their positive run.

Uganda will take on Mali this evening. Both of these sides have not had a good showcase in the tournament and are likely to make an exit.

Liverpool v Southampton (EFL Cup)

League rankings: Liverpool 4th Southampton 11th (Premier League)

Useful facts: While Liverpool conceded three in their loss against Swansea on the weekend, Southampton scored the same number of goals in a convincing victory over Leicester. This game has been evenly matched in the past, with each team winning and drawing two of the last six meetings. However, Liverpool's one win from their last six shows that their early season form has taken a major dip.

John Tlale: I'll give it a draw.

Juventus v Milan (Copa Italia)

League rankings: Juventus 1st Milan 7th (Serie A)

Useful facts: A replay of last season's final sees Juventus come in as favourites, having won four of their last six against Milan and four of their last six in all competitions. However, Milan have won five of their last six games in the competition and will prove to be a difficult test for the reigning champions.

John Tlale: A difficult one… Juventus.

Celta v Real Madrid (Copa Del Rey)

League Rankings: Celta 8th Real Madrid 1st (La Liga)

Useful facts: Zinedine Zidane's men have a mountain to climb, after the 2-1 reverse in the first leg at the Bernabeu. They have won eight of their last 10 away against Celta and will expect to come away with a win, even if they are eliminated. However, Celta boast a record of five wins from their last five games in the Copa Del Rey and cannot be overlooked.

John Tlale: Real Madrid

Egypt v Ghana (AFCON)

Group rankings: Egypt 2nd Ghana 1st

Useful facts: In a battle for top spot in Group C, Egypt boast the better form by some distance, having won four of their last five in the AFCON, as opposed to Ghana's one in that timeframe. Furthermore, with three wins from their last six against the Black Stars, the Pharaohs will be confident of making the top spot their own.

John Tlale: Egypt

Uganda v Mali (AFCON)

Group rankings: Uganda 4th Mali 3rd

Useful facts: Both teams have had very disappointing campaigns and will likely be merely fighting for pride. Neither team has even scored so far and, with the only previous encounter between the two ending in a draw, it seems that a stalemate will be the likely outcome.

John Tlale: Mali
