Orlando Pirates players have urged their supporters to forget about the Soweto Derby defeat to Kaizer Chiefs and rally behind the club ahead of the MTN8 final this weekend.
Pirates narrowly lost the derby 1-0 against Chiefs after they were stunned by an outrageous goal by Yusuf Maart late in the game.

The Buccaneers defender Nkosinathi Sibisi says they could see Chiefs wanted to win badly, as much as they did but a "misunderstanding" from their part decided the game. Pirates midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo lost possession in Chiefs' half and with seemingly no immediate danger, goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane had advanced forward out of his area.
However, Maart brought the game to life with a stupendous long kick that looped over Mpontshane, who was caught running back to his goals.
"We knew it was not going to be easy you know, it's a derby of course, you could see they wanted it hey, as much as we did," Sibisi told the club's media pitch-side after the game, in an interview posted on the club's official Twitter account.
"And I guess it was just a bit of a misunderstanding you know, we lost the ball at the centre and we conceded unfortunately. But we keep our heads up and fight to the next game. It's a process, I've said it already we're in a process," he said.
"I think we have to trust the process, it's going to be up and down. They (supporters) should keep supporting us, I'm sure we'll make them happy."

Sibisi's partner in the centre of defence, Olisa Ndah has decided to rather focus on the upcoming MTN8 final against AmaZulu on Saturday and says they need all the support they can get to bring the trophy back to the club.
"Ja I want to say to the fans we lost this game and we have to focus on the final, we have a game in few days, we need all the support we can get to win that cup game, because we need something for the club," Ndah chipped in, talking to the Buccaneers' media personnel.
Pirates ended a six-year trophy drought after winning the MTN8 in 2020 under former coach Josef Zinnbauer and will look to win the tournament for the fourth time under the current sponsors.
